Head of PR, Marketing & Communication | 2017 – 2020

Kaboom Animation Festival is the premier, progressive platform for the latest and greatest in animated cinema, ranging from cutting-edge experimental arthouse to family programming. Kaboom is the result of a high-profile merger between the Netherlands’ two largest animation festivals: KLIK Amsterdam Animation Festival and the Holland Animation Film Festival (HAFF).

Having previously served as the Head of Marketing & Communications for KLIK (2017–2018), I was brought on to spearhead the brand strategy, naming, and national launch of the newly unified festival entity from scratch. In close collaboration with renowned creative agency KesselsKramer, I directed the development of Kaboom's bold new visual identity.

The core strategic challenge lay in navigating a complex festival duality: a 9-day, multi-location rollout across two distinct cities. I engineered a cohesive cross-city marketing strategy that targeted family-oriented audiences in Utrecht while simultaneously positioning the Amsterdam program as a sophisticated hub for mature, avant-garde adult animation.
